Trabzonspor turn control into a three-goal cushion
Trabzonspor go into the half-time break 3-0 up at Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadyumu, and the scoreline is not a distortion of the first half. The visitors had 65 percent of the ball, out-shot Samsunspor 10-2, put six attempts on target to the hosts' one, and built a 1.52-0.03 expected-goals advantage. Samsunspor managed three touches in the Trabzonspor box across the entire half. Trabzonspor managed 13.
Both sides lined up in a 4-2-3-1, but only one of those shapes functioned as a platform. Trabzonspor's double pivot and attacking line found pockets between Samsunspor's midfield and defence repeatedly, while the hosts' front four were starved of service. Samsunspor completed 108 passes at 71 percent accuracy; Trabzonspor completed 241 at 84 percent, with 115 of those coming in Samsunspor's half. The territorial split was total.
Three goals in thirteen minutes
The opening goal arrived on 27 minutes through Ernest Muçi, finishing right-footed from open play off a Mustafa Eskihellaç assist. The chance carried an xG value of 0.40, and Muçi's first-half goal tally of one against 0.63 xG reflects a player converting the kind of opportunity Trabzonspor were creating at will.
Eleven minutes later, Chibuike Nwaiwu doubled the lead from a corner. The set-piece goal was the highest-value chance of the half at 0.45 xG, and it pushed Trabzonspor's set-play xG to 0.53 — more than Samsunspor managed from all sources combined. Samsunspor had conceded four corners without winning one of their own.
Franculino made it three on 40 minutes, left-footed from open play, assisted by Mohamed Salah. The chance was worth 0.26 xG, and it capped a 13-minute burst in which Trabzonspor scored three times from three different routes: open play, set piece, open play. Salah's assist was his most telling contribution of the half; he also registered 0.15 xG himself without scoring.

Samsunspor's half in numbers
Samsunspor's 0.03 xG is the headline. Two shots, one on target, zero big chances, zero corners, three box touches. The hosts committed 13 fouls to Trabzonspor's three and picked up two yellow cards, a disciplinary profile that suggests a side chasing the game through physicality rather than structure. They won 13 duels to Trabzonspor's 32.
Trabzonspor created five big chances in the half. Samsunspor created none. The visitors' 0.99 open-play xG and 0.53 set-play xG both dwarf the hosts' total output, and the 3-0 scoreline sits comfortably alongside the underlying numbers rather than flattering them. Fabinho, operating in Trabzonspor's midfield, helped control the tempo without registering an xG value of his own.
The second half begins with Samsunspor needing three goals to salvage a point and Trabzonspor needing only to manage the game. On the first half's evidence, the gap between the sides is wider than the scoreline alone suggests.
