Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician and military officer who served as the U.S. Representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district from 2013 to 2021 and as the eighth Director of National Intelligence since February 2025. She previously held office in the Hawaii House of Representatives and the Honolulu City Council, and served as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2013 to 2016. Gabbard is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve with service in the Iraq War.
