Simon Pegg has been diagnosed with ADHD. The actor and writer, 56, disclosed the diagnosis on Thursday's episode of the podcast I'm ADHD! No You're Not, saying he sought a formal assessment because he "just wanted to know."

Pegg described a long road to that answer. There was "a lot of build up and suspicion," he said, and it "took a while actually to get there." What the assessment produced, in his account, was a reframing of difficulties he had long treated as personal failing. The diagnosis, he said, "confirmed a lot of stuff that I'd been wrestling with, and that I'd been attributing to just character fault."
