Coverage after final results of Hungary's 12 April 2026 election.

Our verdict

True

Tisza won 141 of 199 seats, just over two-thirds, which in Hungary is enough to change the constitution.

What we found

Final results gave Tisza 141 seats, 70.9% of parliament. Hungary's Fundamental Law can be amended by a two-thirds vote of MPs, so Tisza can change the constitution on its own. Whether it reverses Orbán's policies is a matter of future choices, not fact.
