Nwannekaenyi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu

Nnamdi Kanu is a British-Nigerian political activist and the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). He is the founder of IPOB and advocates for the independence of Biafra from Nigeria. He was convicted on 20 November 2025 and sentenced to life imprisonment, and is serving his sentence at the Sokoto Custodial Centre. A Kenyan High Court ruled in June 2025 that his 2021 rendition to Nigeria was unlawful and unconstitutional.
