A bunch of money sitting on a table, for a story on how to retrieve your NIN slip online in Nigeria

You can retrieve your NIN slip online in Nigeria either free through the official NINAuth app or through a third-party service for a small fee. The NINAuth route takes only a few taps, while third-party platforms usually deliver your slip within 24 hours of payment. Both give you a PDF you can download, save and print.

What you need

  • A smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access
  • Your NIN number or enrolment ID
  • Your full name and date of birth as registered with NIMC
  • A valid email address (for third-party services)
  • A payment method, such as a debit or credit card or bank transfer, if using a paid platform
  • Access to a printer, or a place where you can print the PDF
  • The latest version of the NINAuth app, if you are using the official route

Step by step

### Option 1: Through the official NINAuth app (free)

  1. Open the NINAuth app on your phone and make sure it is updated to the latest version.
  2. Tap Do More with NINAuth.
  3. Select NIN Slip.
  4. Download the slip and save it to your device.
  5. Print the saved file whenever you need a hard copy.

### Option 2: Through a third-party platform (paid)

  1. Go to the website of the platform you have chosen, for example www.tripleg.ng, and navigate to its NIN Slip page.
  2. Enter your NIN or enrolment ID, your full name and your date of birth. Make sure these details match your NIMC enrolment exactly.
  3. Wait while the platform connects to the official NIMC system to verify your enrolment status and confirm your NIN.
  4. Once verified, download your NIN slip, which is provided in PDF format.
  5. Print the PDF for official use and keep a digital copy as a backup.

If you use a service such as NINCard instead, the flow is similar: choose the service you need, enter your NIN, pay the applicable fee, then wait for a confirmation email with a download link. Your slip is typically sent to you within 24 hours.

Things to know

  • The NIN slip is an official document issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). It contains your unique NIN and proves you are registered in the national identity database.
  • It is used for opening bank accounts, applying for passports, SIM registration and other official transactions.
  • NIMC issues two formats: a Standard NIN slip with your NIN and basic personal information, and a Premium NIN slip that adds a QR code for verification and more security features.
  • Downloading your slip through the NINAuth app is free. Third-party platforms charge a fee; some platforms charge from about ₦310, though prices vary by provider and by the type of slip.
  • If the details you enter do not match your NIMC enrolment, verification will fail. Double-check your NIN, name and date of birth before submitting.
  • If your NIN is still being processed, your slip may not yet be available.
  • A stable internet connection helps avoid technical glitches; most platforms are optimised for phones, tablets and computers.
  • If your NIN has been suspended, you may need to reactivate it before you can retrieve your slip.
  • If you need to correct your details first, look into NIN modification before downloading an updated slip.
