You can check your JAMB result in two main ways: by sending an SMS from the phone number you used to register, or by logging in to the JAMB result portal online.

What you need

  • The phone number you used when registering for JAMB
  • An active data bundle or internet connection (for the portal method)

### By SMS

  1. Open the messaging app on the phone you used to register for JAMB.
  2. Type the word RESULT as the message body.
  3. Send it to 55019 or 66019.
  4. Wait for the reply SMS, which will contain your score details.

### On the JAMB portal

  1. Open a browser on your phone or computer. Google Chrome or Firefox works well.
  2. Go to the JAMB result-checking portal.
  3. Enter your details: the phone number you used during registration, or your registration number.
  4. Click on Check My Result.
  5. Your JAMB result will display on the screen.
  6. Take a screenshot, or print it out from the website after paying the required payment.

### Checking your admission status on CAPS

  1. Make sure you have an active data bundle.
  2. Open your browser and go to the JAMB CAPS portal at caps.jamb.gov.ng.
  3. Log in with your JAMB profile email and password.
  4. Scroll down to CAPS UTME/DE Admission Status.
  5. Click the UTME/DE Admission button to check your admission status.
  6. Your details, such as your JAMB score, institution and date of birth, will show once you are logged in.
  7. If you have been offered admission and you accept it, click the Accept button. If you are not happy with the institution or course, click the Reject button.

Things to know

  • The Accept and Reject buttons on CAPS will not be clickable until you have been offered admission.
  • If your result is still being processed, you will receive a message saying under processing. If you did not sit the exam, the message will say absent.
  • Results under investigation may show messages such as Verification Investigation, Under Investigation (A), Under Investigation (B) or Alleged Infraction.
  • If you experience any delay while checking online, check your internet connection.
  • Once you have your score, visit the website of your chosen tertiary institution to see the cut-off mark for the course you want to study. If you meet it, prepare for post-UTME screening or the admission process. If you score lower, you can change institution or course, or wait for another year to write JAMB.
  • JAMB has approved minimum tolerable admission scores for the 2026 policy meeting: universities 150, colleges of nursing 150, and polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of agriculture, colleges of education and Innovation Enterprise Institutions 100. The minimum age for admission into tertiary institutions remains 16 years. These figures may change, so confirm the current ones on the official JAMB site.
  • The 2025 UTME results were released on Friday, 9 May 2025. That release window has passed; check the official JAMB site for the current session's dates.
  • Admission is handled online through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), which JAMB created to make admission management credible and transparent. Institutions can only admit candidates who meet their cut-off marks, so keep checking CAPS for your status even if your institution has not posted anything on its own portal.

Common questions

Can I check my JAMB result without a data bundle? Yes. Send RESULT to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number you used to register, and you will receive your score by SMS.

What if my result shows under processing or absent? Under processing means the result is still being worked on, while absent means you did not sit the exam. Results under investigation show messages such as Verification Investigation or Alleged Infraction.

How do I accept or reject an admission offer? Log in to the CAPS portal at caps.jamb.gov.ng, scroll to CAPS UTME/DE Admission Status, click the UTME/DE Admission button, then click Accept or Reject. The buttons only work once you have an offer.

Can I print my JAMB result from the website? Yes. After checking your result on the portal, you can screenshot it or print it out after paying the required payment.

What should I do after seeing my score? Check the cut-off mark for your course on your chosen institution's website. If you meet it, prepare for post-UTME screening. If not, you can change institution or course, or wait for another year to write JAMB.
