Joash Ojo Amupitan

Joash Ojo Amupitan is a Nigerian legal scholar and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who was nominated in October 2025 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to serve as chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He holds a LL.B, LL.M, and Ph.D. in Law from the University of Jos, and has served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administration at the University of Jos and former Pro-Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University.
