Arizona Space Congress 2026 Mobilizes 18 Scholars, Industry Leaders for Statewide Space Economy Blueprint

The Arizona Space Congress 2026 will convene industry and academic leaders to develop a statewide strategy for Arizona's role in the growing space economy. Eighteen student scholars will actively participate in this blueprint-building process.

With renewed global focus on space exploration, states are actively working to secure their positions in the expanding space economy. This sector encompasses activities like satellite manufacturing, launch services, space tourism, and resource utilization. Arizona leadership aims to amplify the state's role in this evolving landscape.

The Arizona Space Congress 2026 will take place on April 29 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix. This one-day event is designed as a work session, bringing together leaders from industry, government, academia, investment, entrepreneurship, and student communities. The objective is to construct a coordinated action plan for Arizona's future in space, contributing to the "Arizona Space 2030" initiative.

Taryn Struck, co-founder of Space Rising, noted Arizona's inherent strengths. These include year-round testing environments, available industrial land, substantial aerospace and defense manufacturing, robust engineering universities, and a growing commercial space presence. These factors position Arizona for increased aerospace and space innovation.

Eighteen Space Rising Scholars will embed directly into the solution-building process. These scholars include university students studying aerospace engineering, astronomy, political science, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering, alongside one high-performing high school student. Their direct participation aims to shape collaborative sessions and synthesize ideas for the Arizona Space Action Blueprint.

The event also features Space Tank: Arizona Edition, a live innovation competition focused on accelerating emerging space technologies. The day concludes with the Supernova Gala, supporting space-focused STEM nonprofits.

This initiative signals Arizona's intent to establish itself as a primary contributor to the national and global space economy.
