The claim
“Reform UK pushed back against claims that a photo posted by its deputy leader Richard Tice was generated using AI.”
A Reform spokesperson responded after analysts said a campaign photo posted by Richard Tice showed signs of AI manipulation.
Our verdict
True
Reform said the photo was real but had been 'slightly edited using AI', mainly to brighten it.
What we found
Peryton Intelligence said the image was almost certainly AI-manipulated. A Reform spokesperson denied the campaigners or the photo were fake, saying the posted version was edited with AI to increase brightness, and the original was sent to reporters. Reform did push back, while accepting some AI editing.
