TL;DR: Bola Tinubu secured the APC presidential nomination with 10,999,162 votes, dwarfing his sole rival Stanley Osifo’s 16,503 votes. Pius Anyim announced the result and named Tinubu the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.

The All Progressives Congress held its presidential primary across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

12,643,306 registered party members could vote.

Accreditation, the process of verifying voter eligibility, allowed 11,069,756 voters to participate, of whom 11,015,665 cast ballots.

State governors served as collation officers to oversee the exercise.

Tinubu received 10,999,162 votes, while Osifo garnered just 16,503 votes nationwide.

In Rivers State Tinubu won 280,468 votes to Osifo’s zero; in Bayelsa he took 277,192 votes against Osifo’s five; in Edo he secured 131,096 votes versus Osifo’s single vote.

Similar lopsided margins appeared in Abia, Delta, Kogi, Gombe, Zamfara, Osun, Ebonyi and Kwara states, where Osifo often recorded zero or negligible totals.

Pius Anyim, chairman of the primaries committee, declared Tinubu the winner and confirmed him as the APC’s nominee for the 2027 general election.

The overwhelming vote share signals strong incumbent control within the party apparatus and suggests limited internal opposition ahead of the next national contest.

Observers will monitor whether the margin translates into unified campaign strategy and how opposition parties respond to the demonstrated party mobilization. The next step to watch is the APC’s national convention, where party leaders will ratify the nominee and begin building campaign structures for 2027.
