Noon Energy has signed a significant supply contract with Meta, providing 1 gigawatt (GW)/100 gigawatt-hour (GWh) of ultra-long duration energy storage. Meta is aggressively investing in next-generation energy infrastructure to support its rapidly expanding artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. This effort requires reliable, firm power, particularly from renewable sources that can be deployed quickly. Ultra-long duration energy storage (LDES) technology, which can store electricity for multiple days, emerges as a critical solution to bridge gaps in intermittent renewable generation and ensure continuous operation for hyperscale applications like data centers. Noon Energy specializes in developing such advanced storage systems.

Noon Energy will soon begin developing an initial 25 megawatt (MW)/2.5 gigawatt-hour (GWh) project as the first phase of its collaboration with Meta. Following the successful deployment and operation of this initial project, Noon Energy will commence delivering systems under a substantial 1 GW/100 GWh supply contract. This extensive agreement specifically targets Meta's AI data centers, providing energy storage systems designed for over 100 hours of continuous energy discharge. These modular, reversible solid oxide fuel cell systems enable multi-day energy storage and discharge, ensuring 24/7 baseload clean energy supply even when intermittent renewable sources, such as solar or wind, experience low generation periods.
