Lagos Govt Denies New Traffic Restrictions at Sheraton Link Bridge

Sheraton Link Bridge connects Victoria Island to Opebi Road and is a major route for commuters in Lagos. Rumors circulating on social media claimed that authorities had introduced fresh traffic controls and that task force officers were extorting motorists.

Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi issued a denial in a statement released on Monday. He stated that existing traffic regulations within the corridor remain unchanged and that no new restrictions have been imposed. Osiyemi also said claims that task force officials are preying on motorists are untrue and urged residents to ignore false messages.

The government’s clarification aims to prevent panic and misinformation among road users. It reinforces the need for citizens to verify traffic news through official channels such as the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation.
