Juventus Set to Earn €20 Million from Sassuolo Defender’s €40 Million Transfer

Juventus stands to gain €20 million from a potential €40 million sale of Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic, regardless of which club signs him.

Juventus brought Muharemovic from Wolfsberger in 2021 for their youth academy. After a loan to Sassuolo in 2024, the club made the transfer permanent for €2 million last summer while retaining a 50 percent sell‑on clause on any future sale.

Muharemovic is valued at around €40 million, with Inter Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and Aston Villa all reported as interested parties. Inter are seen as the leading contender to secure his signature. Because of Juventus’ sell‑on clause, the Turin side would receive half of whatever fee is agreed, amounting to roughly €20 million if the deal closes at the reported valuation.

The clause guarantees Juventus a profit irrespective of the buyer, turning a modest €2 million outlay into a potential nine‑fold return. It also gives Juventus flexibility: should they wish to re‑sign the defender, they would effectively pay only half the market price and could register him as a home‑grown player.

Watch whether Inter completes the transfer in the upcoming window, or if Juventus activates any buy‑back option to bring Muharemovic back to Turin at a reduced cost.
