Israel warned that resistance would ignite a nationwide blaze as Lebanon’s confirmed death toll exceeded 2,500.

Hezbollah and Israel continue to exchange threats and strikes along their contested border. Israel’s Defence Minister declared that defiance would provoke fire capable of burning Hezbollah and all of Lebanon.

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem framed the confrontation as a choice between liberation and pride or occupation and humiliation, acknowledging great sacrifices. The group insists on preconditions before any dialogue, including an end to what it calls aggression and the withdrawal of forces.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry recorded 2,521 people killed and 7,804 wounded since March 2. Israeli military actions targeting infrastructure have continued even amid formal ceasefire rhetoric. The Iran-linked group has criticized government talks with Israel while vowing to sustain its defensive resistance.

What to watch next is whether the threat of total escalation translates into broader conflict or hardline posturing.
