Over 200 Isoko youths secured scholarships through the Presidential Amnesty Programme, as local leaders in Emevor publicly endorsed Engr Orobosa Ashakah’s 2027 political ambition.

Over 200 beneficiaries from Emevor and the broader Isoko area now receive educational support. Engr Orobosa Ashakah facilitated these scholarships through the Presidential Amnesty Programme, a federal initiative designed to reintegrate and empower former agitators and youths in the Niger Delta region through education and vocational training.

This significant local development emerged from a recent community engagement held at the Emevor Civic Centre. Leaders, women, and youths convened in Isoko North, Delta State. The primary objective was to consolidate grassroots support for incumbent federal and state officials while also championing a local aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly.

Comrade Eniwake Orogun, President of the Isoko National Youth Assembly, highlighted Ashakah’s consistent contributions to the development of Isoko land. Orogun specifically cited the facilitated scholarships as evidence of tangible impacts. He noted these achievements occurred despite Ashakah not yet holding public office. Orogun urged residents to reward such sustained commitment with electoral support in future polls.

Adding to the endorsements, Chief Emmanuel Erezih, President-General of Emevor Progress Union, publicly affirmed his unreserved support for Ashakah. Erezih, who also serves as Executive Assistant to the Governor on Beautification, emphasized community loyalty. He declared his resolve, stating he would not abandon an "Emevor son" to back an "outsider" in the political race. This stance underscores the importance of local identity in regional politics.

These collective endorsements position Ashakah as a significant contender for the Isoko North State Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly. Community leaders at the gathering collectively pledged overwhelming votes for the party's candidates in the forthcoming 2027 general elections. The event also served to bolster backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, with speakers praising ongoing infrastructural projects like the Emevor-Orogun Road.

The political landscape in Isoko North warrants close observation. The visible grassroots mobilization and early endorsements signal competitive political activities as aspirants solidify their bases ahead of the 2027 elections.
