Haniyah Saeedi has been elected Student Senate President, receiving 339 out of 532 votes cast. Leonardo Torres Ruvalcaba also secured the Los Rios Student Trustee position.
The Associated Student Board (ASB) and Los Rios Student Trustee elections concluded on April 22. These elections determine student leadership roles, responsible for representing student interests and managing campus activities. The results establish the student government for the upcoming term.
Voters cast a total of 532 ballots in the recent election. Haniyah Saeedi secured the Student Senate President role, receiving 339 votes. Leonardo Torres Ruvalcaba was also elected as the Los Rios Student Trustee.
Further results confirmed additional leaders for the Associated Student Board. Sahar Hafiz will serve as Student Senate Vice-President, while Leta Mim-Montgomery takes on the role of Student Senate Director of Legislative Affairs. Carlos Mondragon becomes Student Senate Director of Finance, and Oleksii Tkachenko is the new Student Senate Legislative Analyst. Five Student Senators were also elected: Demetrius Kash, Inaya Sajid, Jayden Velasquez, Luwinna Wu, and Anna Zalozhnykh.
The Club and Events Board (CAEB) also announced its new leadership. Aila Faiz will serve as CAEB President, with Abdul Amin as Vice-President. Emily Calderon is the Director of Public Relations, Elijah Carter holds the Director of Events position, and Jade Brill is Director of Media Relations.
Several key leadership positions remain vacant across both the Student Senate and the Club and Events Board. These include Director of Communications, Director of Public Relations, and Director of Activities for the Student Senate, along with up to 11 additional Senator roles. The CAEB also needs to fill Director of Finance, Director of Communications, Director of Activities, and Director of Club Relations positions. Appointments will fill these remaining roles. The newly elected student government will now begin preparing for their term, focusing on student representation and campus engagement.
