Emevor community leaders recently endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Engr Orobosa Ashakah for the 2027 elections, citing local development initiatives and an impactful scholarship program as key factors.

On Sunday, the President of the Isoko National Youth Assembly, Comrade Eniwake Orogun, mobilized youth and women in Emevor, Delta State. The event at the Emevor Civic Centre focused on consolidating support for specific candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The gathering sought backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, alongside Engr Orobosa Ashakah, who aims for the Isoko North State Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Over 200 beneficiaries from the Emevor area currently receive educational support through the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP). This program provides education and vocational training to former militants in the Niger Delta region.

Orogun commended Ashakah for facilitating these scholarships, noting such contributions occurred "without occupying public office." These actions, he stated, represent "tangible impacts."

President-General of Emevor Progress Union, Chief Emmanuel Erezih, confirmed his support for Ashakah. He stated, "I stand firm in my support for Orobosa Ashakah and will not abandon an Emevor son to back an outsider."

Governor Oborevwori also received praise for local infrastructure projects. The first phase of the Emevor-Orogun Road is complete, with work on Phase Two underway, addressing a key community infrastructure gap.

These community endorsements signal early political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections. Leaders are leveraging local development projects and direct community support to build electoral backing.

The consolidation of local support for specific candidates, particularly an "Emevor son," positions community unity as a significant factor in upcoming political contests.

The coming months will show how these pledges translate into broader campaign strategies and voter engagement.
