Blitzy closed a $200 million round valuing it at $1.4 billion and claims its AI platform can boost engineering velocity by up to five times.

Blitzy, a Cambridge, Mass. startup that builds autonomous software development tools, announced the financing led by Northzone with participation from PSG, Battery Ventures, Jump Capital and several strategic investors. The round pushes total capital raised to just over $204 million.

The company says its platform automates months of coding work, from writing production‑ready code to running tests and validating quality. It targets Global 2000 firms across ten industries, counting State Street and QAD among early adopters. Blitzy does not disclose revenue, but it reports deployment in “dozens” of large enterprises.

CEO Brian Elliott explained the technology’s edge: delivering enterprise code requires “hyperscaled agent orchestration” combined with a system that deeply understands existing legacy codebases. Elliott, a former Army Ranger and founder of the AI startup Wove, co‑founded Blitzy with Nvidia veteran Sid Pardeshi, who holds more than 27 AI‑related patents.

If the claimed fivefold increase in engineering velocity holds, enterprises could compress development cycles that normally span months into weeks. Faster delivery may lower labor costs and accelerate time‑to‑market for new features, a competitive advantage in sectors such as finance and manufacturing.

Blitzy joins a wave of AI‑driven development platforms that have attracted multibillion‑dollar valuations, including Anysphere, Replit and Lovable. The sector’s growth reflects broader corporate pressure to automate software creation and reduce reliance on scarce engineering talent.

Investors appear confident that Blitzy’s focus on integrating large‑scale AI agents with deep code‑base analysis differentiates it from pure‑assistant tools. The strategic stakes from insurers and venture firms suggest expectations of enterprise‑wide adoption.

What to watch next: customer case studies that quantify speed gains, and any partnership announcements that expand Blitzy’s reach into new industry verticals.
