This strategic approach will also “de-steam” the hospital's heating and hot water systems, an upgrade designed to enhance efficiency and minimize wasted heat. John Runniff of Vital Energi, a partner in the project, stated the endeavor will create a substantial impact on carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and patient care.
Beyond the direct environmental benefits, this modernization effort intends to decrease energy bills, potentially freeing up funds for direct patient care services. The project receives funding through the Carbon and Energy Fund framework and Phase 4 of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, highlighting a national commitment to public sector decarbonization.
